more success!!!

Post by I'veGotCrabs » Sun Oct 07, 2007 6:53 pm

I've been posting about this one crab for over a month now keeping everyone updated. When i found lucky he was missing 4 limbs, 3 legs and his BP, and as it happened it's a pretty decent store and all the other crabbies were healthy and happy. So i swooped up this little guy and brought him home, slowly raised the humidity in his tank and fed him all the happy crab foods i could think of. For a little over 3 weeks he just sat in one spot. Finally he molted and regrew 4 limbs, a lot for such a little guy! As if that wasn't awesoem enough i put him in the main tank for the first time yesterday. I have my food and water on the second level of the tank and was really worried little lucky wouldn't be able to climb up to get it because his regrown legs are still thin and spindly. Well, i plop him in there and i'll be danged if the first thing he did wasn't climb up the climbing wall and find a little place to hang out and chill. Then to boot the other crabs took him in like one of their own, shoving him around playfully like crabs do, but not in the least aggressive. (i have one crab with a real history of aggression, who has obviously settled down, but i still worry about him flaring up again) Well, anyways it's my first rescue and i am just so excited about all of it. Sorry this is so long guys! happy crabbing!

What a great story, congrats! It feels good to help a little crab out, huh?

I just found one of my little PPs today missing all his right legs, including LP, so I really liked reading about your crab's successful regrowth.
