I know its a weird question but I was wondering because they always have there abdomen in their shell.

:hlol: Good question.

They have a part at the very back of their abdomen which is where they excrete feces. I forget the name of this part. :( Anyway, once they excrete it, they will use their appendages inside the shell to basically pull it out and put it somewhere so it's not in the shell. :D

That's why you find it in the food dishes or other common "toilet" spots. :P

Why don't we make the poop question into a sticky. HERMEZ took some great picture a few years ago. I know I posted them, to everyones delight. I just don't know where they are now, but it would be a great service to newbees and also to oldbees since we won't have to read through any more poop jokes.

Yikes, don't remind me... :faint:

Apparently she made more than that one thread; just look up "Hermez" as the author and "poop" as a keyword in the "search" function and you'll see more than one entry....there's one big one in the archived forum.

:hlol:

Stickys are the topics at the topic of a section (Crab Behavior has none - but other sections do) that are stuck there by mods because they are of importance. Using the search tool mentioned is a great way to find information. We have a lot of useful topics and archives here.
