Vacuuming
Vacuuming
I have an odd question and I would like to know what happens with your crabs when you vacuum? I know that crabs do not hear but feel vibrations.
What I have noticed is that I get one of two reactions. One they either go absolutely nuts and run, run, run, or climb as fast as they can, or two they absolutely freeze in their spot until it is done. I really would like to know what the molters think though but that is a side point.
Anyways how do yours react or have you ever noticed?

1 Rugs 2 Indo's, 2 Viola's, 4 Straws, 11 PP's, and 10 E's= 1 Very happy owner
I don't vacuum near the 'tat.
ETA: hhmm, I was rereading this and thought I should point out I have hardwood floors everywhere but in the bedrooms (crabs are in the dining room). Didn't want anyone thinking I didn't clean up!

I remember when my crabs were a bit scared of humans in the early days, and I would vacuum past them and they would either hide in their shells or run to a cocohut or other hidey hole..but I think this was more because they saw me, rather than "felt" the vacuum. These days my partner has been vacuuming so I'm not sure how they react anymore..
I vacuumed a few days ago, with an eye on the crab tank (all I could think about was this thread). There wasn't much activity when I started: Bueller, the only one I could see, was sitting on the big piece of mopani. I vacuumed all around the tat, even bumping the table it's on. Bueller sat on the big piece of mopani.
So, one limited experience suggests mine don't react. I'm wondering what would have happened had there been more crabs out, especially the E's. They're generally a lot more skittish and run quickly away when startled.
