I live in SoCal and we have the occasional storm, but nothing like today. the thunder is so strong that its shaking the house! Since the first flash of lightning my largest crab has been changing shells nonstop. Does anyone know why this might be?

maybe he thinks when it thunders there is going to be plenty of shells on the "beach"!
(talking wild hermie and when there are waves it pushes shells on the beach)
i found that to as well, my Raptor keeps changing shell if there is a thunder storm, crabs are so mysterious.

maby its cause me and my crabs are in a basement but during our frequent storms so far even the lighting flash and boom of thunder coming through my window dont make them do this very interested about this myself it sounds kind of neat

Wow, your crab is much braver than me! I am very frightened of lightning and thunder. I certainly don't go wildly about my room changing clothes when that happens. Silly crab.
