Plants: Creeping fig

Post by cencus121 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 8:40 pm

Hello friends, I've been researching the creeping fig plant trying to figure out if it's safe for hermit crabs. It appears that it is safe but it never hurts to ask around.

I assume your talking about fiscus pumila? (Whenever possible, try to list scientific name as it can help us to help you a lot easier!)
If so, I view it as a great addition to the tank, and believe it to be mostly safe... I don't know anyone that has tried it out, but the only problem I can see is that they mildly toxic - their sap is an irritant. For me, I dont see this as a problem for the crabs, but others - and you - may differ. Regardless keep an eye on things to ensure your crabs dont suffer.
