New crabs

Post by Hermielover121 » Fri Aug 14, 2020 9:32 pm

We just got new crabs we got them from the pet store I know it’s not very good but we felt really bad for them and we could not find any local adoptions even though we’ve been looking for months. The first one is quite large and Shy we’re pretty sure it’s a PP. The second one is a bit smaller and quite red so we think it’s a strawberry. This one was first to explore and bolt around. We don’t know what to name them yet but we’re looking for suggestions. I hope they get along with our other twoPP’s in our 70 gallon since they are so cute.

I also forgot to mention that we dipped them all in the saltwater before putting them in, and at the very beginning they crawled on top of eachother and used the other crabs shell as a kind of boost to get them forward is this aggressive behaviour??

I don't think so. Here's a video of my crab doing the same thing. He uses his buddy to get up into the wheel, and the buddy just sits there and acts as a step stool lol. Image

A lot of times I get names from my favorite movies. I love the 2018 Aquaman with Jason Momoa. I rescued 4 crabs in May, and they all have names from that movie lol. I also have a crab named Petunia, because it's one of my favorite flowers. Do you have any favorite movie characters? I bet you could come up with some good names from that. Image

Oh ya that’s a good idea and it made me think of that I could name home from a Disney movie.

I think I’m gonna chose Minnie like Minnie Mouse but if it’s a boy I’m gonna name him Mickey. Still don’t have a name idea for the little one yet though

That's cute, I like those names!
I have 3 crabs I named without knowing the sex because they refuse to let me peak at their bodies lol. And I have one I named as a boy but ended up being a girl, but I kept the name anyway. Image
