First Molt Mess up

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while. Unfortunately, after not seeing a small crab for almost four months, I decided to start digging.

It seems as though my little Samwise didn't make it through his first molt. I tried to give my first rescue crab a better life, but instead it seems I did the opposite.
I just wanted to notify you guys.
Thanks for the support and encouragement.

Any future tips to keep this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Mortality tends to be high in new crabs, regardless of how we prep them or their tanks. It’s not necessarily your fault.

You gave the little guy the best chance he had given the circumstances.

~5 months into it, I'm not 100% sure I've got all the hermies I started with either. I believe I've seen 4-5 out of the 6 at this point.
