Is it a tumor??? HELP ME

Ok, one day i was looking at my PP, Jeremy, when i noticed a tumor on his left side, under like 2 of his legs. I don't know if it is a tumor, or like some kind of like cycst (spelling?) PLZ HELP ME!! I'm very new to crabbing. :shock:

It is most likely a molt sac. Your baby may be due to molt soon. :)

ok thanks, i got nervous because 3 out of my 4 crabs have them. oh ya, is it normal for it to like, pulse at me? :? like when i check it out? IT SURGED AT ME!!! IS THAT NORMAL??? :shock:

I wonder if he moved one of this smaller legs that hold onto the shell and that caused it to appear to move.

Left side, that sounds like where the molt sac is......I'd agree with Kathy. They fill up that sac with provisions for their molt. Is it dark in color?

yeah, the sac is dark. that is a very good idea, that they moved their leg and it moved. Thanks so much for ur help, i am very relieved!!! :D :D :D :D

Just to let you know....
Sometimes they carry that molt sac for a long while before actually going down to molt. Depending on the crab, it may be months. The important thing, is that he is getting ready! Keep us posted on his progess! :)

Jeremy (the sac holder) dug down a couple days ago. He left me a little window at the bottom to view his progress. I think he climbed out of his shell. Any hoo He is fine.... i have realized why i luv this website so much. WE"RE ALL A BIG HERMIE FAMILY!!!!!! :wav: [smilie=grouphug.gif]
