My friend goes to Mexico every year and says that there are ADULT hermit crabs that are the size of a quater. Are there really?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by "adult". Hermit crabs start out life as aquatic eggs, then become free floating larvae then come to land and turn into their adult form, which is the form we see as crabs. Size depends on age and species of crab, but basically if you're looking at it and you're thinking "yep that's a hermit crab" then it's in its adult form. If you're thinking of adult as able to reproduce, I'm not sure what age/size crabs need to be to reproduce, however that would change between species.
