The Crab with the Metal Eye

One of my large crabs has developed a “metal eye.” His one eye is all silvery and opaque. I’m assuming that it will be fixed after his next molt, but I’m just wondering if anyone has ever seen this before. I’ll let everyone know what happens.

Yes. It could be from damage and should repair in his next molt/s. One of mine that had that when I got him lost most of the eye in his first molt with me but it steadily grew back over the course of many molts. In the end it was almost completely back to normal, though never got any better than that after years. Other crabs were repaired with just one molt, no issues. It could just be a sign of really needing to molt, though it's funny to me how it just shows on one eye. I also have a crab that resurfaced from a molt (I think last year?) with both eyes sort of metallic looking. I don't think she could see well. She's been under, hopefully molting and repairing them. We'll see soon, I hope.
