Question: How to make my humidity gauge stay on the tank wal

Post by amcniel94 » Tue Jul 21, 2015 4:58 pm

I have a digital humidity gauge, I'm not sure how to spell the actual name for it (hygrometer?). Anyways, it was fine in my 10gallon but since I upgraded to my 20 gallon tank, it keeps falling off the wall. It's really starting to aggravate me. I think it has to do with the sticky part on the back but I don't know how to make it stay. Any thoughts? I'll add a front and back picture so you can see what I mean when I say sticky part.

I think it's because substrate got on the back but how do I clean it off?

You can probably get the sand off with a paper towel pretty easily.
You could try using a Velcro command strip to attach it to the glass. Make sure the glass is super clean and dry so the adhesive sticks. I've used command products in my tank/s before and they hold up pretty well as long as they don't get wet. Hope this helps :)

Thanks! I flipped the sticky part around so the part with substrate is attached to the back of the gauge and the clean part stuck to the glass. It'll do for now.

They're around $5-6 depending on what you get. They can be found just about anywhere. The variety will vary from store to store, you just have to look around.

A little bit of double sided tape should do the trick also (that's what was on there when you bought it) once you get the sand off the gauge.

Well, after I flipped the double sided tape, it stopped falling so it's fine for now. Thanks for all y'all's advice! Appreciate it!
