How to cool a tank?

Post by pearl29mi » Mon Aug 03, 2015 2:36 pm

I'm wanting to get exotics but the only way I would be able to house them is outside. the max temperature it gets is 105 degrees & I know that will kill them. Is their a cheap way to cool the tank?

That sounds like a bad plan for housing exotics, to be honest... I keep reading that their requirements are even more strict than PPs & they mostly seem to need much steadier temperatures. I would think it would be much more difficult to keep a steady temperature if they were housed outside, and it would be much more likely for a sudden drop or spike to occur & kill them. Why would you have to house them outside? Is there any way they could be housed indoors? Maybe it'd be a better idea to wait until you have a place to keep them inside before you get them...
