Crab Escapee

Post by pearl29mi » Sun Oct 04, 2015 9:52 pm

I came home to find a hole in the plastic wrap, I figured my biggest hermit crab (and possibly 2 others) escaped somehow  , my house isn't too cold so I figure they'll be fine for now, but anyone recommend good place where I might have luck finding the escape artists in my house?

UPDATE: 1 found, she pinched me too, guess I deserve it :hlol:

They gravitate towards heat, so under/behind fridges, oven, stoves, dryer.

Keep in mind they can get both up and down stairs!

People have found them in blankets on the bed, at the top of curtains, etc. They can climb just about anything and can squeeze anywhere their shell will fit.

A proper fitting and weighed/locked lid is a must with these guys! They can even climb the silicon in the corners of the tank.

I use a bin w/ plastic wrap but not the cover on top, guess I will have to put that on too! Although I don't remember putting any decor close to the top
