A moist hide should be like a gladware container with a hole cut out, or a reptile cave with a lid and base, filled with wet moss or paper towels. This creates a humid micro climate and keeps the moisture level somewhat steady. The rest of the tank needs to stay dry so the wet shouldn't touch the sub. My moist hides are the ones in the middle of the tanks.

Ah, I have a lot of moss, that my brother uses for his hermit crabs.
I will probably put it in the middle as well, so the cool hide can have the corner away from the heat.

I forgot to ask, can you breed the hornworms?
They are quite expensive for just 25 of them..

I see the superworms aren't that expensive, though.
Where do you mainly get your hornworms?

No, hornworms are hard to breed. They only lay eggs on tobacco and tomato plants, but if the caterpillars hatch and eat those plants they become toxic and cannot be used as reptile food. They are fed a replacement diet that is safe instead. They also grow like weeds so they would only make less than a week of meals before they got too large, and that would be with feeding multiples while they were still too small. If mine aren't gone by day 8, they are useless. A 25 pack makes two meals for my crew once they get to size, which for an adult leo is no more than half grown or they can choke.

I personally order in bulk from Josh's Frogs about once a month. One 25 pack of hornworms, 300 supers, and 1000 crickets. I have a lot of mouths to feed and that's been the most economical way to do it. If I wasn't allergic I would be breeding dubia roaches instead!

I also still have some phoenix worms from over a year ago, but the leos don't seem to care for those too much. They are the best feeder though, they are insanely high in calcium IF your critter will eat them. My problem is they look like waxworms and everything I have got waxies as treats, so they get a mouthful of phoenix worm and it is not what they are expecting. My poor frog gets so excited when she sees them and scarfs them down and then spits them right back out.

For one insect eating critter though any chain store will carry live insects (crickets at the very least, most have supers and mealies) and that's probably your best bet so you don't have to keep them alive for any length of time. If you really want to order online chexk out Josh's Frogs, they have single leopard gecko packs that are meant to last for I think a month at a time and have a ton of variety. (Or maybe you can find a supplier closer to home. JF is in Michigan so basic shipping is overnight for me.)

I'm going to the petstore today, and picking up the tank! I can't wait until my supplies arrives!

I got the tank, the light arrived very quickly!
The light, and the heater were installed, and I'm waiting for another package to arrive with more supplies, including the clay.

The bulb I ordered for the light, hasn't arrived either.
It should be coming today, possibly.
