On Jan 27th it'll be my year anniversary for my 2 PP's and Petunia, the 3rd was my anniversary with Hermie and the 12th is my anniversary with Squishy and Bashful! So far I've only had 1 death that I know of, my straw Pavlova, whom I got in November. Parfait my other straw isn't looking so hot either, so I may be dealing with a 2nd crab death soon
I know my 2 PP's are still alive and so is Petunia and at least 2 of my three E's but I can't tell them apart any more lol. I hope I'll be able to celebrate 25 years with them, can you imagine how many events in my life (and theirs) we'll have lived through together?

I started crabbing in Sept '05...none of the original crabbies are with me. Lost them due to trial and error, bad molts, PPS, the whole nine yards. I do however have Cranky with me a year as of November. He was thought to be a Cavvie but is now ID'd as a Viola. Of course, I thot he was a PP when I first got him due to coloring..hehe
All others have been with me anywhere from a yr in December to just a couple weeks ago.

Ive had my girl Sprint for 4 years and 4 months now (shes a pp)
Next in line in way of age is Doughnut (a female pp) and she is 3 years and 3 months old
(I also got BumbleBee (F pp), Chip (M pp) and Smidge (not sure F/M pp) with Doughy, so they are also all that old)
Spot is also 3 years and a couple months old, she is a pp.
Sparky is also 3 years old, she is a pp as well.
wow..I have a lot that have all turned 3 years old!! (all pps) Scotch, Sylvestra, Smuckers..Freedrick will be soon, come Feb 2nd. They are also all female.
My E that I have had for a little over three years, who has had some mightly problems molting, just died during a molt. Sad but really she wasnt doing so hot between molts either I suppose...she was completely blind and was usually missing at least one leg. RIP Snickers.

My first hermie, Peek-a-boo, turned 2 years old in October so he is now 2 years and 3 months. He is still a large, but has molted 4 times in total. However, with one molt he had a deformed leg then he took another quick molt to repair that leg so that is probably why he has grown only a small amount. I have 2 other hermies, Rocko and Spike, who are now 2 years and a couple weeks ago. Then Bugger, my Alpha female, will be 2 years old in March. So hopefully they and all of my other hermies will live long healthly lives.

I have owned two crabs for, let's see.... my son is about to turn 14 and my daughter is 9....
OOOoohhh.....you meant hermit crabs!
We are newbies there....October 2006 puts us at just over 3 months as crab owners. But, thanks to HCA, I learned most of the important stuff quick and have had a Large PP molt, a small E molt, and we haven't lost any of our six cuties (*knocks on cholla wood*, don't want to jinx myself there).

Thanks for explaining that to me Kathy
I don't think any of my two females in the tank are alphas, but my largest male crab Luke is definitely alpha as he is king of both cocohuts and if anyone else comes near him he shoves them with his legs until they go away and he also digs other crabs out of cocohuts like a bulldozer. Lately he's been very quiet though because he's got PMS(it's a worrying time when jumbos molt).
Funny though, I have 3 small crabs in the tat as well and Omega who's been with me the longest likes to push the other littlies around, does that mean he's alpha too?
