So after this guy came up from a molt,His legs looked like this. He is moving around fine and does not seem to be in any distress. I know getting sharper "toe" nails is normal, as other molters have had them, But his seem to be almost like extra long leg tips. Anyone had a similar experience?

They can regenerate legs in a molt, yes.

Is that what you're seeing?

They normally have a claw and two large legs on each side, plus multiple smaller ones further back on their body. Maybe he was missing some legs before?

No. He isn't/wasn't missing any limbs. If you look close at the second picture you can see what looks like the tips of his legs have almost tripled in size and now curve out. They look really odd when he walks, other than that he is healthy, eating, and being a crab. When my others molted, they came up with sharp tips almost to a point, not longer legs

re-typed the title. It was a bit confusing. TY for responses.

The actual problem is that his leg tips are way longer than they should be to the point of him looking odd walking.

Maybe next molt he'll fill them out width-wise to match the length, kind of like an awkward teenage phase?

What it looks / sounds like to me is… maybe when he molted he grew an extra limb. I would think it would fix itself on the next molt but honestly we don't know from molt to molt what can happen with these guys.

Thanks for sharing. This is definitely something for the record books. Good luck with this guy.

After looking closer since reading this, his leg does have an extra segment in the middle where it bends! TY

Wow that's crazy! And he's walking okay? You will have to keep us and me posted on how he does and if his next molt fixes his rare extra limb.

Update: Yesterday I had an unexpected surprise around feeding time. This guy came up out the ground right in front of me from a molt. Last time I recall seeing him was about 3 weeks ago. He was sporting a turbo that I don't even recall having. He has grown a lot in size and no longer has any "deformities" at all. He has a very dark color and seems to be in better shape then when I got him. I guess the odd leg, bent tips, and odd shaped claw may have been from the ground caving in during his last molt? I really don't know but I'm glad he is looking and doing good.
