Red blotches

My all active and smart Fred has changed shells. When I was able to see the top side of the abdomen, I noticed some brown-red blotches on it. It also took a good 5 seconds for his abdomen to get in. Please help me figure what this is.

Could you provide a picture perhaps? They do have markings on their exo, but the abdomen itself is just pale.

There's not much I can say about this without pictures...which unfortunately may be hard to get...Hopefully it was just a fluke? :/ Is said crab acting normally?

Maybe something in the other shell was irritating him? Is it completely smooth on the inside?

Every once in a while a piece of sand, coco hust, substrate will get caught up in the Shell causing an irratation the crabby if they can't get it out will change shells to try to rid of the irratation, if he continues to switch shells, I would start to worry, but if he's acting fine, I wouldn't worry about it, they usually will deal with it themselves.
