Funny find

So I've been searching high and low for a while to create a second level for my crabs. I have the moss pit in the shower caddy, but I wanted more! Hah! When I was digging through my supply closet in my classroom I came across these:

BOOM! These are working perfectly for a bottom floor shell shop and top floor Snack Bar. I glued some netting to the side to act as a ladder and some burlap fabric to the bottom of the top floor and badda-bing a new level appeared!

You can barely see it in this last picture. I may have to move my light because it blocks a lot of it. I've been looking at using the all weather LED strips to get rid of those lamps...

May add another set to the other corner. Put my "wet" food off of the sub and the dry food on the bottom. Keep the food dishes for later.

Added another set to the other side. Lots of climbs for my crabboids now!

Hey, sorry to post something sort of off topic but I saw you still have your KK pools and was wondering how well they're holding up?

Excellent. I don't move them very much. Maybe once every other week to clean them. My bubblers usually empty it out pretty quickly so I never have any stagnant water. No leaks, no cracks. I'm thinking about doubling them though so it adds strength and keeps my spot open when I pull it out...

Good idea! I'm not having much luck with finding tupperware that's deep but fits what I'm looking for as far as width and length goes. I'm going to give Walmart another once over before picking whether I'll be using tupperware or a KK...

Have you considered cleaning them with a gravel siphon vacuum? That is what I use to clean my pools. They sell them for turtle tanks, or for aquariums. They have them for really small aquariums. I recently went on a hunt to upgrade one of my pools. Looked everywhere. I settled on a 2.5 gallon glass aquarium. It's about the same size of a kk that I have, but takes up a little less space due to the shape. I used it above the substrate to give them more molting space.

@MrTeacherDude

That looks so cool! Thanks for the 2nd level idea. Ive been pondering a 2nd level myself. My husband suggested using some kind or cork bark and wedging it between the two long sides of the tank. But i was worried that might fall if not wedged securely enough and wouldnt be very easy to get around for cleaning and regular maintenance. Didnt even think i might have something sitting on my desk that would work perfectly!

Now i just have to find something else to put my office supplies in. Lol.

Crabs vs. office supplies? Yeah. Crabs win. Im going to go rob the storage bins off my desk now. Lol.

Crabs ALWAYS win...office supplies can find a random drawer to live in...
