Tank smell?

Post by AndyCrabby » Sun Apr 30, 2017 12:00 pm

I know this is a strange question but what is a tank supposed to smell like? At first my tank sorta just smelled like eco earth but now it smells extra earthy and musty, really moist I guess. The humidity is a bit higher than when I first had my tank set up but is it supposed to smell like that.
Side note: Doesn't smell like rotten fish so I believe that means no dead crabs

I would say it has an earthy smell. That's pretty normal.

I thought I had to clean my tank again. I changed out the top substrate not too long ago

Not necessary. When your sub is properly setup you should never have to do deep cleans, if ever.
