How rare is it for a crab to change shells in front of you

I'm just wondering how common it is for a crab to change shells right in front of you when it knows you're there cuz it saw you, and you're right outside the tank looking at it

I think it's pretty common, especially if it's a new crab or new shells. I've even had adoptees change in my lap before. The shell change waits for no crab!

Oh, ok! I just wondered cuz I thought it was rare since crabs feel vulnerable when they're naked in front of things, plus someone (probably not that experienced with crabs) told me it was rare. But my crab did change in front of me and I thought it was cool.

I've seen my hermies change shells right before my eyes many times...I just don't make any sudden moves and stay really quiet and they're totally fine with it!
