Possibly evacuating for Irma

Post by sierra » Tue Sep 05, 2017 4:10 pm

Hermine is molting in a 10 gal right now and if we have to evacuate our plan is to visit family whom are 17 hours away. We don't have room for that big of a tank. Is there anything I can do to take her with me without putting her in danger?

Do you have any moss? If you have to, you can carefully dig her up, place her on the moss and then lightly cover her. Second choice would be cotton balls and paper towels A margarine or sour cream container is the perfect size. If there is exo take that too. Keep the container out of sunlight and away from the vents in the car if the a/c is on. (The floor will be coldest location.) Don't forget her food and dechlorinator! Everything else you can take care of once you get to where you are going. Stay safe!!
