Hello,
My bf often goes into other people's homes as part of his job and remarked how he loved that this latest client's house smelled so nice. He noticed that they were using those Glade Plug-In things, which I've read previously on here are a no-no. But, is there ANYTHING that I could buy that would be crab safe? Our house doesn't smell bad, by any means, but he liked what he called "the aroma therapy" lol.
Are there any safe things that make your house smell nice?

I personally don't recommend anything involving fragrances around crabs - but to each his own.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

There were cases in the past where a few members swore that perfume or a candle or a plug in killed their crabs, usually kids upset at a sibling or parent. I also know that there have been many members who kept doing their scented thing and never had an issue.
When I started crab keeping I never changed what I did with cleaning supplies or scented things. I still use Windex on the outside of their tank, being careful of course not to get anyt inside. I can't comment on how it works out longterm as with my allergies (and a few of the cats' allergies) we had to go scent free on mostly everything about 5 or 6 years ago.

I use wax and oil burners in the same room, as well as Lysol, Febreeze, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. No discernable issues.
My tank is sealed and the products emitting the scent/spray are nowhere near the crabitat.

There's an air freshener that has long been a staple in my house - I believe it's pure orange oil. I can't remember the name, but I can find it if you're interested. I don't think we've used it in close quarters with the crabs yet, though.

I have Scentsy warmers in my house - one on each floor, but not in the same room as the crabs. I have never had an issue, have had my crabs for 7 years.
