Mosquito in Crabitat

So, as you can probably tell from the topic title, there’s a mosquito in our crabitat. I’m afraid to open the crabitat to kill the mosquito in case it escapes because my dad said we can’t kill it fast enough and it would just fly out, and I’m hesitant to change the water for the same reason. Is the mosquito harmful to the hermit crabs? Can I just wait for the mosquito to die and then dump the water that’ll probably have larvae, or will the larvae hatch by then? Could the mosquito bite the hermies without getting in the shells? How likely is it that it will get in their shells?

I don't think its going to harm the crabbies... but I think it will be a while before it dies..
