Cinnamon brooms?

Post by Cal » Sun Oct 04, 2020 12:39 pm

My dad recently got a couple of those little cinnamon brooms (they might be called cinnamon whisks?) and I’m wondering if I can put one in my room where the crabs are. I know the general rule of thumb is to avoid fragrances of any kind since they usually aren’t good for the crabs, but I thought I might ask here to confirm since I really like how they smell! I’ll attach a picture to show what I’m meaning, too!Image

We don’t really know how hermit crabs are affected by cinnamon. Whether or not it’s safe to eat is still an active debate.

I personally doubt it’d be harmful, but if you do hang it in your room I’d monitor the crabs for the first few days for changes in behavior to make sure it’s not irritating them.
