My pets! Trixie(dachshund) Bella(yorkie poo) Hermy(female pp) Dory(male pp) (btw I named Hermy and Dory before I new their gender oops) lots of Marimos!

If they’re the same texture as the rest of the cholla they’re probably just normal discolorations.

Yeah, it looks like this has been physically cleaned or sanded well, so the light bits are newly exposed and the dark bits have been weathered.
