HCA: Hermit Crab Association

What would be the smallest and/or best crab species for a new owner? I’m looking to get a couple hermit crabs soon and am not sure what species I should get.

If you live in the US, you are most likely to find Purple Pinchers, which also happen to be the easiest to keep.
