Hermit crab not moving but not dead

Hello I’m a new crab owner for about 3 months now. When I bought them - 6 of them, they were very Active, I have a fantastic set up I did all my research but after a few days they burrowed down into the sand and haven’t seen them for weeks. They aren’t interested in eating, drinking or bathing, I did read they could be molting but I found 1 dead today so I think it’s more than that. My only lead is that the sand I bought was slightly damper than what was considered okay for hermit crabs and it was quite humid at the start but it’s dry now and no change in activity. They look fine but 2 of them have also gone hard and won’t move much when I pick them up to check on them. I’m aware that’s a big no no to touch them but only found that out today so I thought it was time I wrote something here for some great advice so I don’t make any more mistakes!
