They look strangely cute. Like little aliens. I'd not like to drink that water, though. :?

Double check with Jedediah, but they look like spring tail larva...and yes a terrific picture of them!

LOL Scythan  To be honest, they are a little cute. I'm not sure what kind of larvae they are, but GREAT PIC!!!! I think you should definately get rid of that water and CLEAN THAT BOWL!!! :D Do you have any live plants in your tank? Also, what kind of substrate do you use? Sometimes, bugs are attracted to FB, especially when it is moist. Maybe you should clean out your tank to be on the safe side.

Would Know. I like that site. Of Course Jedediah Might know....
Good Luck..I hope they weren't Beneficial Bugs...those would Help and not Harm.

Well, no. It's not that Eco-earth has anything in it, but it attracts bugs because they think it is a good place to lay eggs and if there is food spilled in it, that could attract them also. Do you use regular sand at all?

I have the exact same thing going on and posted a similar picture just a week or two ago. We decided they were spring tails as if you watch they will hop (spring) on top of the water. They are beneficial and will help clean your tank.

This was tricky, but I managed to get a magnified image of one of these guys from my water dish. Hopefully people will still say it's a springtail. :)

My bugs are exactly like yours. This is an extreme close up in my picture. From a distance they look like little hairs and you can barely make out their antenni.
