Species Identification
I've spent the last three months fully convinced that I owned two straws (embarassing), along with fourteen PPs. But, when one of them molted and I accidentally reported the molt on another board (I meant to post that on the molting board and I'm not really sure how I managed to get it onto the emergency board instead. Also embarassing.), a bit of a debate was sparked over their species. I now know that they're probably E's but they still look like several other species to me so I figured this board would be more appropriate for continuing the debate of which species they are. So, this is Constance:
And this is Augustus:
If anyone has photos to share of Ecuadorians (or any other species mine may be) that are the same size as my guys, that'd be helpful.

Good to know she's normal/healthy. My fiance works at a mall kiosk and keeps falling in love with crabs and bringing them home from work. He brought me this one and a male today. She had one of those shells with the plastic baseball caps. That didn't last long.
If you think she's a beauty, you should see Ricardo:
I still can't get over my two big guys not being straws. I feel so foolish for not figuring it out. Now, they look like a little bit of everything to me. I guess it's because I'm semi-new.

Wow, those are both some of the BIGGEST E's i have EVER Seen!!!!But they are 100% E's. As for PP's having red eyes, it is normal, i see several when i go to the beach and look in the shop that sells them, they must have like 200 in there, but several have black eyes while several others have red eyes, not sure why they have red eyes....but they do! lol

I love the crabs, they are all very pretty. Those are also some of the biggest Es I have ever seen. They are Es.
Crabbing since 7/4/04 - 10 years!

Ahhh, didn't se that you wanted pics, well it's your lucky day, i have one in the exact same shell, and he is an E. They may not be the best photos, sort of in a rush! I tried to get a few angles for ya.
