Straw color question

Post by Guest » Mon Feb 26, 2007 8:43 pm

I don't know if this belongs here, feel free to move if needed.

My smallest straw, Rasta, is a beautiful red color. He is very active, and hangs out in my second level a lot.

I am concerned about him though. Even though he is very red, his BP has a fairly big patch of white on it, almost like a bleach spot...

Is this normal? If he comes up soon, I will take a picture and post it.

Yup, this is normal for straws. Especially the younger ones. Dont worry about him :)

Thank you! I'm glad to know that. I was a tad worried that he was sick or something.

My crabs get plenty of color enriching foods, so I didn't know why he was missing color.

Straws often lose color in a molt or two, before they start gaining it again. Don't worry, like Cheyenne said, it's nothing to worry about.
