Livehermitcrabs

Post by Giga » Tue Jul 31, 2012 8:54 pm

I ordered lhc on the 25th and I sent 3 emails and haven't heard anything yet. How long should I wait before I file with PayPal to dispute the order?

I think they're a bit backed up on orders ATM.

They tell you up front it will take 2 weeks to ship usually, and that's about the ship time I've had with them. They aren't the best at getting back to customers, but they are worth the wait. From what I understand, they've been swamped with orders. Their web site is indicative of that with all the sell outs listed. I'd give them some more time. You'll be happy you did when you get your new babies home!

They have been taking pre-orders for a while. They said they will have their crabs by the end of July (most likely going to be late because things always are) and will ship orders in the order they were received. So it's likely you will have to wait more than a week.

But they are legit, and many people here have ordered and received crabs from them before, so no worries about that. They are just SLLLLOOOOOOWWWW. And have horrible communication. You have to threaten them in order to get a response, sadly. Back in 2010 when I ordered, she replied to my e-mails in like 30 seconds! Not sure what happened since then...

Paypal gives you 45 days to file a dispute if you have not received what you ordered. How long you wait is personal preference, but I know some have waited 3 or 4 weeks before getting response e-mails saying the crabs have mailed. You will get your crabs, I have no doubt of that - she's never not mailed them out nor has she screwed anyone over, though mailing mixups have occurred. (And she's always fixed them.) It's a toss-up though as to when they will get there and how long you are willing to wait for them.

I'm might wait because I only have a 29 gallon and I ordered a jumbo indo and 2 med indos so that might fill the tank already but I do plan on getting them.

That's when I ordered too! Got my crabs quick too! WITH a bonus crab! :) That's why I ordered again, but it seems that things have changed. For me, I'll wait since I'm perfecting my tank and waiting on an order from HCA
But let's keep each other posted and hope for the best

I ordered 3 indo's and they emailed me again today(8/7/12) saying their over sea supplyer was delay so it could be 2 more weeks but they did say they were gonna give me a extra free crab so that's pretty cool.
