Eco Humidifier too fast

Hi Friends! I have an Eco humidifier from Pet Smart and have always used this brand. I also have a 75 gallon long crabitat with 2 levels. My issue, as always, is that the humidifier is too effective. If I fill the reservoir bottle it will absolutely soak the substrate and leave puddles. I usually end up putting up 1/2 a bottle and it seems to be ok. Substrate is gorgeous, never have to clean poop etc. I'm looking for any ideas on how I can diminish the flow of humidity. When flowing it is a nice mist but by morning it's way too much. Should I perhaps use 1/2 bottle morning and evening? I would appreciate any thoughts as I'm getting ready to do my yearly cleaning and re-bedding of the tank.

You could try putting the humidifier on a timer so it only sprays for an hour at a time, a few times everyday.

You can buy a timer at WalMart or PetSmart for less than $10 USD. That will be your best bet. Mine works well for me and my humidifier.

Btw, yearly tank cleans aren't recommended anymore. That must be quite the challenge to clean a 75 gallon tank. I have no idea how I would do my 55.

If you are having problems with standing water in your substrate, I would definitely do the straw test and make sure that you aren't flooded or over saturated towards the bottom of your tank. This can cause bacterial blooms, which would make removing and replacing all sub a necessity if you don't catch it in time.

Do you have bubblers in your pools? Is your lid completely sealed? I've never used a humidifier and probably never will, because my tanks are stable without, but some other members here do use them. I believe most of them do operate theirs on a timer.
