Ive not had any problems, is this an eventual fate for my colony? Or is this just a possibility if they used it or do they all end up with copper in their tanks?

It's not worth the risk for me. Lots of people use used tanks just fine, but I'm not much of a gambler.KayedeeLove<3 wrote:Ive not had any problems, is this an eventual fate for my colony? Or is this just a possibility if they used it or do they all end up with copper in their tanks?

Any store that sells tropical fish supplies should have a copper test kit. I don't think they are expensive and even if they were, it would be cheap insurance. If the used tank has never been treated with copper, you are good to go.KayedeeLove<3 wrote:Ok im upgrading soon so I'll test it first! People use copper based treatments because they don't stain the tank's silicone and decor the way other treatments such as malachite green do.
