What did you do to get that horrible fish smell out of it?! [smilie=sick.gif] I have soaked it and boiled it! Is there anything I'm missing?

Mine didn't seem to smell that bad. It was soaked & then boiled & then dried in the sun. I didn't notice that it caused any odor in the tank.

I had a sea sponge that did the same thing. After it dried completely it didn't stink anymore. Hope this helps!

I remember the same thing about a year or two ago. Once it was dry it didn't smell.

If you choose to use it, just be careful spraying.

PU!
Sorry my advice isn't really any. Perhaps someone else will have had better luck.

Thanks for the help! After some more boiling it doesnt smell as bad. I'll wait until it dries out and see how it goes. Thanks again!

Ooh! Vinegar sounds like a really good solution.

Maybe even mixed with a little baking soda?

I may try that.

Glad to hear the aroma is fading!! :D Blech!

The best way to get a smell out of something: Soak it in vodka, dry, boil, dry. :)

a serious waste of vodka lol. Do you think a plastic netting would be ok? the clementine box I got has a netting of plastic over the top and I thought I might cut out some and stick it in the tank, think it'd be harmful?

That sounds like a cool idea. I am interested to know what they say too about it being ok to do it.
