crabs not eating?!?!

Post by Guest » Sat Dec 30, 2006 11:52 am

It seems like my crabs are not eating, because i dont see any food missing from the bowl when I feed them everyday[fresh apples, all organic stuff]. It's been this way for a few days now and I'm not sure on what to do about it.

They move and everything, and they are not molting, so I have no clue what to about it:(

Look very closely, when they are well fed crabs may only eat a small amount at a sitting depending on if they like what is being offered. You can either smooth the sand around the food dish to see if they are eating, or look very closely for little bits of sand on the food that they may have tracked onto it.

maybe they're just stressed. Try to feed them coconut, nuts mix. Mine is really picky.

Might they be having trouble getting access to the food bowl? Does it have a rim or something? Perhaps you should try putting something that won't get moldy directly on the sand next to the food dish to see what they do.

Maybe you can also try placing in something different like cooked unseasoned chicken wings(chopped up),cooked fish and shrimp pieces,a chunk of fresh coconut, peanut butter on an unsalted cracker, unsalted popcorn?
