What if the food has iodized salt in it?

Post by Guest » Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:26 pm

What if the food has iodized salt in it? Is it still a no no for the crabs?

I wanted to give them a bit of cornbread crust from yesterday, but I had put salt in it so I figured I'd better ask.

Thanks!

iodized salt

I always avoid iodized salt even in trace amounts, but it probably wouldn't hurt them mixed into cornbread in small amounts occasionally. Cornbread often has refined sugar in it too which I try to avoid completely.

Sorry, but it's probably not a great idea. If you really want them to have the cornbread, it may be okay to give them a tiny bit as a treat, just this once, but I wouldn't make anything with table salt a frequent part of their diet. It's just not good for them.
