Petition against painted shells...

I work at Petco, and my coworkers know that if someone has questions about hermit crabs, they should come get me. Unfortunately we do sell crabs in painted shells and there's very little I can do personally to change that, but I always be sure to educate customers on the hazards of painted shells and strongly urge them to buy natural shells, on top of giving them all the best advice I can think of. Education does make a difference, and I'll still try to see if we can get crabs in all natural shells in the future.

The place where I get my crabs rarely have painted shells, and the hermit crabs they have for sale never are in painted shells.

One of my first cabs, Fred, died because his abdomen was glued into his shell. Not only did they just dip the shell in paint, they didn't even bother to dry it before forcing him into it.
If anyone ever shows this to someone at a store selling crabs in painted shells, I hope they see this, and realize what they're promoting.

Please count me in! That's my 2nd strongest protest for hermit crabs. (My 1st being feeding hermit crab flakes at the pet store)
