Reptile basics and beanfarm both sell Ultratherm, but you might find different sizes being offered between the two websites. Definitely get the one best fit for your tank, so that you wont need to spend additional funds on heat after your purchase.

I moved the heater to the back of the tank so see if that'll help.
It got me thinking, will heaters melt plastic aquarium backdrops?

I don't know if it would melt or not. The other thing I'm wondering is if it will interfere with the UTHs ability to heat your tank.

Looks like having it on one side was a less than stellar idea. I moved the UTH to the back and it solved the problem, haha.
Haven't replaced the background yet, wasn't sure if it would be safe.

I've had my UTH touching my background for some years and haven't had any issues, it should be ok :) But definitely something to check on once in awhile, like when you check your outlets, wiring, lightbulbs, etc.
How is the tank doing brit?

Is your background on the outside of your tank between the glass and UTHs or on the inside between the sub and the glass?
