I used jute twine to crochet my climbing net. It's nice and easy for the crabs to grip and easy to work with -- works well for making a macrame-style net, too. If you're near a Walmart, you can find a good-sized ball of jute in the Artificial Flower section for under $3.

Some folks have purchased nets on etsy. Here's the link:

netting and twine

It's really strong (but it's sort of funny what it's made of...marihuana with less then 0.3 of whatever makes it bad; a.k.a hemp)
5 PPs; Ghast, Eager, Boomer, Plato, and Indigo
2 Family Dogs; Lilly and Ginger

Have a very crabby day! =D

Bought a coco fiber climbing mat at petsmart and cut it up to make all kinds of climbing apparatus. Added second levels for moss and shell shop and they love it. Also bought some natural twine instead of hemp since it was thicker. Braided it up and have it hanging down from second levels. Not sure if they are trying it though.

So it took a while, but the tank is much more exciting now.
