Safe Woods for Crabitat

Post by TSCrabber » Wed Apr 08, 2015 7:49 am

I'm making climbers for my tank and I would like to use some box elder bark that I found. Box elder is not specifically listed on the safe list on this site (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=92557), but it is a type of maple and maple is listed as safe. However, it is on the unsafe wood list from the Epicurean Crab site (http://epicurean-hermit.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9), though this list has maple and oak on the safe AND unsafe list which makes me feel that that this list my not be as trustworthy. What do you think?

Our lists started out based off of their lists but over the years we've added things or moved things as crabbers tested things out over long periods of time and proved them safe. Our safe list says all species of Maple so I think you should be good.
