moving crabs to a new tank

Post by Angela.Shylah » Sat May 30, 2015 3:54 pm

I just got a 20 "long" tank (the lid I bought for it is meant for a 29 gallon) and it is a huge improvement from my little 6 gallon. I have 3 crabs and moved one today because he was wandering around this morning. He seemed very happy, he is my least active crab and was running around and climbing and eating for hours. My other two are still in their origional tank, burrowed in the ee. Would it be safe for me to scoop the ee (and crabs in the sand) into the new tank? I don't exactly have enough dishes to keep two tanks running. I'm pretty sure they aren't moulting because I hear them crawling underground and I have seen them both on the surface within the last couple days. I don't know how long I can run two tanks because rift. now theyres only has a fresh water dish. Thoughts?
Proud crab mommy of three babies: George, Scrumples, and Sebastian.

Hello!

If they come up to the surface you can move them while theyre at the surface it seems more that they're just burrowing for fun.

Happy Crabbing,
