Looking super good!

You need to put gandolf in your sig... You don't want to hurt his feelings right...

Thank you Crabinski! He is super cute! He's also a complainer. Whenever anyone does the typical "I'll go over you not around" deal he chirps and fusses.

My sig is way outdated. I need to get on updating that.

If you have your wood down touching the substrate and you notice mold here's a little trick someone came up with..they got those plastic mats people use to make crafts with..you know has all those little squares and people can use them to sew with yarn?? Just cant think of the name..any how they cut a long piece off so it wrapped around the wood and was longer than the wood and zip tied it on then stuck the plastic in the substrate but making sure the wood didn't touch..ended the mold

Thank you landlubber!

Thanks Laurie! I call it craft mesh. Not sure the real name either. I have a ton from making betta fish tank dividers and my false bottom. Might have to give that a try for the cholla.

They're called plastic canvas or vinyl weave I believe. Pretty sure they're used to stitch/weave on designs and stuff...

I think others will agree with me that we need more pictures.

Thank you all! It took about 11 months to get move in ready and I'm still not done! I need a humidifier and a timer for it (I have a false bottom so I feel safe to have on time to time). I also want more decorations! It feels too open still. I will get more pictures soon!

Life in Crabtopia has been grand. They love it! So much room and lots to climb. But I'm still decorating! A bunch of my tiny/small crabs have decided to molt again so it's mainly Frodo, Rosie, Arwen, and Eowyn that I see out and about right now. I have seen my newest crab Kili, but usually only for a little while and usually only in the middle of the night. Image when I finish decoration I'll have to start a new thread to document the day to day life. Here are some pics! They all look so happy! I especially like the pic of the crab checking out the green turbo in the shell shop -- so cute :) . The suspended shell shops are soap dishes, I presume, but have a beautiful scalloped edge that I haven't seen before -- where did you get them? There's nothing like looking at the details of someone else's crabitat to bring on the "I wants" !
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch

Thank you! The scalloped edge one came from Roses. I don't know if they are everywhere or not? I found it on clearance for a couple dollars. I may or may not have actually squealed out loud when I found it.

looks great!! love seeing pics of the build and then the after photos of the crabs enjoying the space. Your crabs look very happy :) I love the pic with the little E hanging out with the other two PP's. I feel like he is saying "Hey guys, what's going on over here, did I miss anything"? He fits right in :) Then you see the E a few pics down crawling on the bubbler line. Totally describes their personality! You did a great job with everything, it definitely is a crabs paradise :

Thanks to all who have taken the time to say they like my tank. It feels good to have my year long project appreciated. It has took a lot of effort. Image

I have an exo terra monsoon mister hooked up. I only turn it on for about thirty seconds then back off myself. I heard not to trust built in timer. Going to buy a separate one soon. I have a false bottom and I keep close tabs on the moisture level. I needed the help keeping humidity up in such a tall tank. I have light! My new fixture is still coming, big version of the one I'm using. But things are still coming along here in Crabtopia. Shell kids seem to enjoy the mist!
