How do I get my coco fiber wall to stay up?

The sticky velcro didn't stick for cap to the coco fiber as I expected. But then the skewers I bought didn't help much either.. what do you guys use? /:

I bought some heavy duty Velcro strips that worked well to hold mine up. I put a piece in all 4 corners as well as a couple in the middle. The Velcro it comes with, is junk!

I'd love to know as well. My crabs keep ripping the velcro away from the coco fiber bc they like to hang out between the glass and the fiber. It drives me nuts. I just tried putting velcro all the way across the top of it and they still got it off. Anyone else's crabs do this?

Sounds like you've got your pinchers full over there. I'm not sure if I would find it more annoying or amusing if mine did that. Maybe amusing for a while until I got sick of putting it back... Well hopefully we get some answers, huh? lol I've got high hopes for the heavy duty velcro

Lol I bought different velcro but I'm not sure that it was heavy duty...must not have have been! [WHITE SMILING FACE] I'm thinking I need to get a bigger aquarium, trying heavy duty velcro and adding even more places to hide...in hopes that they will find a new favorite hiding place! Let me know how it works for you...I'll let you try it first. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

How are you all using the Velcro? Adhesive to the glass, hook side of tape directly to coco fiber? I think ours just came with double sided tape.

the kind I used was not your typical Velcro. Both sides were the same and the little teeth locked in together. There wasn't a fuzzy side and one that stuck to it. good luck!

I've used that stuff before! I actually prefer that over regular velcro

I just bought craft velcro. Then I proceeded to stitch it on the cocoa mat using dental floss. Floss is much stronger than thread. Has been holding very well. Of course this was not the sticky side of the tape, that was put on the glass. This is on the side of the tank that is over the water pools with a bubbler.

Do you ever worry about them climbing over the water pools? I would be afraid of them falling into one and hitting a hard surface. I know they v=tend to fall into substrate but that at least has some cushion too it

Nah, don't worry. Remember that our crabs are also known as "tree crabs" and fall onto all sorts of less-than-soft surfaces in the wild. My guys slip off the vines over the pools and drop in with a splash; they also love to do their Spiderman impression by trying to move along the length of the tank, hanging upsidedown on the hinge of the glass top -- it rarely ends well as I'll hear the telltale "thwack" of a shell hitting the substrate from a drop of 10-11" but the crab is always fine...somewhat embarrassed, but fine .

They can walk across the branches above the water and get on the fiber mat too. The branches are touching the side of tbe tank. Also have more along the back of tank. They can climb along 3 sides of tank, except he front, without touching the floor. Branches are high enough so they can easily get under them to go swimming.
