Why does okay sand say wash your hands after use?

Post by pandaincognito » Tue Feb 23, 2016 8:32 am

Warnings like this worry me :/ a bag of playsand says to wash hands after use. My boyfriend told me about this and opted for all purpose sand because its more coarse and not as dusty. Im just curious why somethi g marketed for children would urge you to wash it off...

Not sure. It could be something to do with the fact that if you use it outside in like a sandbox many little bugs probably make it into their home and neighbourhood cats might start using it as a litter box without you knowing! :p

Just a thought.

It says that because of the silica content. There may be other minerals that would be harmful for small children to inhale or ingest, as well.

It's probably more of a precaution. Something they print on the bag to cover their butts should anything happen. ;)
