Re: Is my crabitat good

It is hard to tell and I cannot really get a good picture from underneath the middle is more up and then the two sides where I have the dirt go down more like a tunnel that the The trains used to drive through and I just took the top off the Tonnele so it goes down 7 and a half inches

That draw is like a top by the way my dad added the channels when I was younger for me. So this really worked out perfectly for me

They are underground for an extended amount of time, come up larger and with more hair.

Re: Is my crabitat good
So I am going to go to a hardware store to get some play sand and replace the calcium colored sand but what sand should I use and what about the Eco earth should I mix that with sand or should I leave it alone

I can't offer any brands and such (since different countries and all) but any bag of sand that has "play sand" would be a good choice, choose a bag that doesn't have holes and if it's clear, the sand isn't discoloured. If it's a good quality sand, buy it.
As for mixing, just do what you feel best. Some people leave them separate and let the crabs mix it, other mix it. Many people recommend a 5:1 (sand:EE) ratio, as it closely mimics the sand in the wild. (But your choice)

What type/thickness of acrylic did you use? Is it flimsy at all? I see that it supports the lid but would it benefit from a wooden frame (for the corners)?
Re: Is my crabitat good
We used to have a train table just like that. We swapped it out for a Thomas one so the sides aren't nearly as deep as yours. I've often considered converting the table to some other use but crabitat would never have crossed my mind! What a nice, big surface area!
You said the four sides are plexiglass and sealed, and the top is plexi. Did you cover the bottom with plexi as well? The top of our train table is some kind of particle board and I don't think it would stand up to the moisture.

I made a mistake when doing this I should have put plexiglass and connected it up with glue but I didn't I would recommend plexiglass everything!!
