Re: New Crabitats

Do the zip ties go right thew the weed block or do I have to cut holes first? I would have never thought about the extra space the zip ties take and prolly would have had to redo the whole thing :-) I'll be picking up some of that lace stuff too now :-) can't wait to get started but things came up last week as they normally do and the new tanks had to go back burner for a bit but as long as everything stay running like it's supposed to they will be worked on next week :-)

I just forced them through. It is a pain in the butt. I think cutting holes would make it less sturdy.
#1 rule of crabbing - crabs are weird.
#2 rule of crabbing - see above

How do I get the pvc to cut straight? I keep ending up a little higher or shorter just before the end :-/ maybe the hacksaw blade is too flimsy :-?

Went out and got a pvc pipe cutter and broke the blade :-/ luckily I have all the short peices cut but not the long corner piece...unless I want it to be 5' long :-) do I have to silicone the pvc pieces to the tank bottom or can I just set them in there and lay the rest across them? I don't think they would move too much with 150# of sand on them :-?

Wow, looking good! I bet the crabs are loving it.
Speaking of crabs, they all very purty.
