I don't know what you guys think, but we seem to get this question a lot from newbies wondering what HC waste looks like. Would this make a good sticky?

Yes definately! As a 'newbie' myself, I can tell you I had no idea what HC poop looked like until I saw this thread. And it's so dang funny too! Now I'll know what to look for when I'm cleaning the 'tat'. Thanks Herm-EZ for posting this topic!

I know we can't have a million stickies, that would be silly, no one could ever find the posts! It's also a shame when we can't find a way to make such great info easier access too. I've been averageing a TON of posts lately  I do have a life, I swear, but I don't sleep at night and I noticed we get this Q often.

I will not be hurt, or offended or anything if everyone disagrees. :D

I know the search function is not used enough probably, I am guilty of that myself sometimes, but I often get way to many results and it makes me not want to use it. And I'm a master researcher too, I always find what I'm looking for on google. We just have a lot of info here. :) I know, I know, the less I use the search function the more I'm contributing the the problem that makes me not want to use it. I'm starting to build a habit around it.

WOW that is huge, I have never seen anything remotely like that in my crabitat. i got a micro and a small and i find little tiny turds literally this big "O" and that is rare, and i clean quite often and if i ever found something like that, well i would be really really worried. And maybe about thestickies thing, maybe there can just be an added post with that picture in a newbie forum.or something?

I'm a newbie and couldn't find pics anywhere. I read somewhere that it resembles cat poopie, so I'm picturing something covered in sand. My problem is that most of my sand is black. It's calci-sand. I did some research and found a website that said that some sand makes children sick, so I decided to use the calci-sand. I found some on sale ($3.50 for a small bag vs. $6) My color choices were black, black or black. I bought a few bags thinking that I would get the white T-Rex calci-sand for lizards and have sections like carpet in a house. I even had some pink/orange sand that came with the crabbies in a critter keeper. That was going to be the running strip for anyone who felt the need. I soon found out how messy they are! So now my crabs are living in what looks like dirt. This makes it impossible to find the poopies. I've done a deep cleaning and I wasn't sure just what I was looking for sifting through. The pictures are invaluable. Perhaps in this forum we are a little bit more open to showing these things than the typical crab care websites.

You must be a proud hermiteer!
