Featherscrabs - I finished my trial run with knitting hemp. It's a lot harder than it looks!

lol. The stuff has no give in it whatsoever. Instead of doing a corner shelf I decided to do something simple that didn't require increases or decreases in stitches until I get used to working with the stuff. I used medium sized needles and small gauge natural undyed hemp. It ended up being about 3 inches by 6.5 inches. Shaped like a scarf. I'm going to use it as a suspended bridge between my two second levels which reside on opposite ends of my tank. I made sure to do pictures which I'll post soonly.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about buying some hemp and having my mom crochet some stuff for me. She's the only person I know who crochets. Maybe I woln't now. It's not like I need anything more in my tank anyway.

A bridge sounds really neat. I'd like to see the pictures once you post them.

I"m not sure if mine like it or not. I started to put it in the tank and found out really quick that it blocks all of the light to my lower level. Grrr. I already have two dark spots due to the second levels I have in there. Can't have all of it dark. I'm going to get some suction cups this afternoon and mount it on the back wall of the tank for a climby toy. We'll see how they like it.

I'd LOVE s Do It Yourself section! I like making things and as soon as Motley's up and there's more room in the tank, I plan on starting a second level! I've seen some creative things on the site, legos, ladders, etc and it would be a lot easier if they were in one section. It could probably be easier for those who have small business ventures also, a place to show their stuff
