Even in "the wooded areas", within a mile or so of the ocean, there's plenty of salt spray to make brackish puddles. So even the PPs that live pretty far inland have no shortage of salt in their environment. I wasn't advocating not giving PPs salt water all the time, I was just mentioning that they can live if only given salt water only occasionally.

I know about the salt spray thing because my grandma and her brother lived near the ocean, and he was always complaining about the salt spray on his car .
