Ya...It really does Matter the Species...The Prices U quoted earlier are Generally the Norm...But $100.00

That is Outlandish!

If!!! and this is a Big IF!!! it is 1 of those from Indonesia or Japan...
It's Possible...if it is the Species I am Thinking..It is Illegal in the States.

It was like the blue c. purpureus. My daughter and me saw these pics the other day and she said it was like this one.

But I don't know if they are Illegal in Canada.?

LOL! If U can, I would Definately Check on this...if they are Legal! OMG! I would Kill to have 2 of those!

And..umm I am sooo wanting 1 or 2...I would Pay the hundred Bux to have 1...I want 2, as they really Need Companions of the Same Species(All Crabbies do)

I just looked at the link. Those crabs were some of the most amazing hermit crabs I have ever seen! No wonder it would be $100. They are so exotic! I once thought Straw's were exotic and rare!

U may want to Check with Customs. Maybe Animal Control Officer.
Maybe the SPCA(Society for Protection of Cruelty to Animals)
Other than that, I am not too Familiar with the Canadian Laws or Enforcement.
Another Place would be the Police Dept. They Might be able to help ya and Point ya in the right direction.

Strawberries are exotic and they are very nice crabs. I am just saying that it is possible for me to buy a Straw, but I don't think I will be getting a special blue hermit crab.

I got the flu since last tuesday and it keeps me from sleeping

Well! I went on the Canadian custom website. and found nothing on Coenobita purpureus... or any other Coenobita at all!

I wrote them a mail and I am waiting for their answer.

I will tell you as soon as I get their message!

this morning... all ended well... fiou!

I got a mail from the lady at the Canadian Wildlife Service/Evironment Canada... CITES.

And the Coenobita purpureus is not regulated by them...

Could it be regulated by someone else... that I don't know! I asked her the question. So I am waiting again.

I, and my Crabbies are doing well.
U really should ask that Pet Shop if they Know the Species of that Crab..If it is the Perpurus... U may want to Contact somebody...LOL! But who??
100 bucks for a crab is Soo crazy! But if it is truly a Blueberry( C.Perperus)
I would really be concerned about it's well being....Like Straws, I would imagine that they would need exacting Care and Conditions Not too mention diet...WOW!
Have I said before How Much I would love to have a Couple of those?

But I am starting to think that maybe I would like them too! They are so beautiful!!! BBBut I don't know how I would be able to justify that 100$ to my hubby...oups!

I sent another mail to Canadian customs. And they sent me a notification of message reception. They said I am supposed to get the answer in a workable day or less. Not too bad hey!?

Well! let's wait again...

I am going to phone this pet shop to see if they have received more HC's... can't wait to know! ahaha!
